These days we can we are quite lucky to watch Aussie Open from our comfortable chairs and pleasant temperatures, especially here in California.

On Day 2 players were battling in temperatures as high as 107 degrees. Nadal took on Tomic, who actually defaulted after only one set. There are other players, such as Stepanek who retired due to extreme weather conditions against Slovenian Blaz Kavcic. Looks like his preparation in Dubai paid off since he was able to take on the heat. Another surprise or disappointment for Australian crowd was a loss of Hewitt against Italian Seppi. They had a long 5 set run that lasted almost 4 hours.

On Day 3 Serena Williams had an easy second round to beat Dolonc. Li-Na had to put some extra work to reach third round by beating Belinda Bencic from Switzerland. Sabine Lisicki lost against Monica Niculescu, which was for sure one of the main surprises of the day.

Today (Day 3) Australian crowd is expecting amazing doubles match where Hewitt and Rafter will make a comeback facing Butorac/Klaasen.

On Day 4 we are looking forward to see Slovenian player Kavcic against Roger Federer. And we are keeping our fingers crossed for the temperatures to drop……
