This year clay court season has been very unpredictable, nobody would have guessed all the winners of  major tournaments in the last six weeks. It started with Stan Wawrinka winning Monte Carlo, to Nishikori taking the trophy in Barcelona. Nadal was the favorite to win most of the clay court tournaments, but the only title that he got was Madrid. He also got into the finals of Rome, where he lost in three sets to Novak Djokovic.

Therefore, it is really hard to predict who can take 2014 Roland Garros. Kei Nishikori and Novak Djokovic have been both battling injuries, so for them it is a question if they can sustain two weeks of high-end tennis. Rafa is most certainly not the player we know from 2013. He is lacking confidence and his game is not stable and predictable. Most of his balls are short, landing barely over the servis line, putting him in defensive position in most of his matches. Although he has shown some of his old game-style in the semi-finals of Rome by beating Dimitrov in semis of Rome, and keeping up with Novak in the first set of finals, he was completely played out in the final two sets. We can also not forget about Roger Federer, who just became father for the 3th and 4th time (twins again) and therefore missed Madrid open and was obliviously completely out in Rome, losing first round. It will be interesting to see his comeback in Paris.

On the WTA side, Serena is according to my opinion favorite to take the crown. She is suppose to play Sharapova in QF if they both travel there. The only thing that could mess up with her play is injury or perhaps consistent play by Ana Ivanovic, that shown some great tennis in the last few weeks. Also Maria is a treat, winning Madrid and Porshe open but she has the tendency to not play her best against Sharapova. Worth looking after are also Li Na, Sara Errani and Simona Halep.

On Saturday there was Kids Day at French Open, where Novak Djokovic called out  for helping victims of flooding in Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia. He was also amazingly generous by donating all his earnings from Rome tournament . If anyone is fortunate enough to have some additional money, please click here to donate for Novak Djokovic Foundation and help victims of Serbian flooding. Also check out the videoasking to help.

So all the tennis fans, get ready for two weeks of amazing clay-court tennis. And make sure you notify all your family members that changing from Tennis Channel is not an option. And for all those lucky fans who will be in Paris, we are  extremely jealous :-).
